We teach violin, viola, cello, and fiddle to students as young as five (or younger with the teacher's approval) all the way through adults. Our strings instruction is rooted in classical technique and music theory, the foundation for playing any style well, from orchestral repertoire to folk and fiddle tunes. Lessons balance strong fundamentals with music each student is excited to play.
Young string players move up in instrument size as they grow, and a properly sized instrument makes a big difference. Your teacher will help you choose the right size violin, viola, or cello.

How long does it take to learn how to play a string instrument?
String instruments take patience: there are no frets, so playing in tune depends on training your ear and fingers together. Most beginners can play simple tunes within a few months of regular practice, and steady lessons build the control that makes the instrument really sing.
I don't have any musical background or ability. Can I still help my child practice?
Yes! Short daily practice is what matters most. One of the best ways to help is simply listening: you'll quickly notice when notes sound in tune or a bow stroke sounds smooth. Your teacher can show you how the instrument should be held so you can give gentle reminders at home.
